Swansea City 0-5 Chelsea: Rampant Blues Extend Lead at the Top
Chelsea again showed their title credentials with a masterclass display, as they swept aside Swansea City 5-0 at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans’ home ground has been somewhat of a fortress this season, but Jose Mourinho’s side came out firing on all cylinders and were ahead within the first minute.
Brazilian midfielder Oscar fired home to give the away side the best possible start and his teammate Diego Costa doubled the Blues’ lead 20 minutes later, finishing off a superb team move, in which Cesc Fabregas was the architect.
The Swans seemed to lose their discipline and the Chelsea goals continued to flow even before the half time break. The Premier League’s top scorer, Costa, grabbed a second when taking advantage of a poor back pass from Federico Fernandez, while Oscar also got his brace with ten minutes of the first half still to play.
