Real Madrid Confirm Agreement Over Martin Odegaard Transfer
Real Madrid have brought one of football’s longest running transfer sagas to an end after formally confirming they have reached an agreement over the transfer of 16-year-old Norwegian sensation Martin Odegaard from Stromsgodset.
The teenager, who is a record breaker after making his full international since August, is touted as football’s next superstar and has been visiting a number of top European clubs over the last 12 months.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Ajax, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are just a selection of those that were very interested, but Real have announced that the player will undergo a medical and be presented to the media alongside director and club legend Emilio Butragueno on Thursday afternoon.
Real were the most recent club that invited Odegaard to visit and reports suggest the terms of the transfer include a job for his father, Hans-Erik, within the club’s youth academy. A villa is waiting for them to move in immediately, while both will a begin Spanish lessons.
