Manchester United Will Sell Striking Duo to Fund £60m Edinson Cavani on £300k-a-Week Deal
Manchester United will offload strikers Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao this summer, paving the way for a £60m move for Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani, as reported by the Star.
Getting rid of the misfiring pair would free up £460k-a-week in wages, with almost two-thirds of that, £300,000, being used to lure Cavani instead.
That would make him the highest-paid player at the club, alongside captain Wayne Rooney, and United believe this will be enough to ward off competition from Arsenal.
The Uruguay striker has endured a disappointing season in Ligue 1 so far, scoring eight times in 23 starts - half his goals tally from a similar number of games in 2013-14.
