Jordan Henderson Wants New £100,000-a-Week Deal to Stay at Liverpool
Liverpool vice captain Jordan Henderson wants £100,000-a-week from the club if he is to sign a new contract and commit his future to the Anfield based club, reported Mail Online.
Henderson, who is set to take over the club captaincy when Steven Gerrard leaves at the end of the season, has already rejected a five-year deal worth £80,000-a-week and wants an improved offer if he is to stay on.
Henderson currently pockets around £60,000-a-week, but wants an improved offer to come his way before signing. He currently has just over a year remaining on his contract, though there is willingness on both the part of the player and the club to reach an agreement.
The player said of the talks last month: "I love playing football for Liverpool and I want to be there for many years.
"In terms of my contract, I think everybody else will make a big deal of it but for me it's just letting my agent and the club deal with it and whenever it gets sorted, it gets sorted."
