de Puniet striving for confidence ahead of WSBK bow

Randy de Puniet has two more days on the Crescent Suzuki before his much anticipated maiden World Superbike event gets underway.

Randy de Puniet says he will use the two-day official World Superbike pre-season test at Phillip Island to get a greater understanding of the Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000 before he makes his World Superbike race debut.
The former MotoGP rider will make his much anticipated maiden appearance in World Superbikes when the season kicks off its Australia on February 20-22, but will first turn his attentions to testing alongside team-mate Alex Lowes around the same Melbourne venue.
Looking to gain greater confidence on the bike, de Puniet – a former podium winner at MotoGP level – is looking forward to the challenge ahead of him.
“The test at Phillip Island is still very important for me as it will be two more days on the GSX-R1000, and the first time riding the bike at the track knowing we will race there at the end of that week.
“My aim for the two days is to feel more confident with the front of the bike and to run race simulation to get a feel for the tyres under this distance. It is the last chance for us to work together to take further steps to be competitive but I’m confident, I like the track and the bike has proved to be consistently fast there
