Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere Spotted Holding Shisha Pipe
A photo of Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere holding a shisha/hooka pipe in a London club at the weekend has been swiftly removed from Instagram, according to 101GreatGoals.
Wilshere, currently sidelined with an ankle injury, has a history of being caught smoking in public.
The England midfielder was reprimanded by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger over an incident in 2013, and was forced to apologise after being pictured smoking in a swimming pool while on holiday in Las Vegas after last summer’s World Cup.
“I’ve been seen before doing it. I said then I made a mistake and I have made a mistake again. People make mistakes.
“I’m young and I’ll learn from it. I realise the consequences it has and the effect on kids growing up.
“I have kids myself and I don’t want them growing up to think their dad smokes and it’s OK for a footballer to smoke because it’s not.
“It’s unacceptable and I will accept the consequences and I will move on.”
Wilshere is set to return to training in the near future, but could have landed himself in further hot water after being spotted at London’s Libertine Club with the smoking apparatus.
The picture surfaced on Instagram at the weekend but was swiftly removed, possibly at the player’s request.
