IEM Season IX – Taipei starts January 28th
The tournament is the fourth event of IEM Season IX, organized by the world famous Company ESL and will be held in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei.
Offline tournament will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center and will finish on February 1st.
Qualifiers were held before the tournament, 2 spots were played for on the European and African servers, 3 – on American, 1 spot in the Taiwan server and 3 spots in the Asian final qualifier.
3 stages of the tournament:
1st stage:
2 groups double-elimination with 8 players in each.
Top 2 from each group will advance to the second stage.
2nd stage:
four groups with 4 players in each group, that will play in dual tournament format with 4 stages
Top 2 from each group advance to the next stage.
3rd stage:
8 players will play in Single-elimination format.
Quarter finals and semi finals will be Bo5.
Finals – Bo7.
Prize pool of the tournament is $25,000 and 4,000 WCS Points will be divided among players as follows:
1st place – $10,000 + 750 points
2nd place – $4,000 + 500 points
3-4 places – $2,000 + 375 points
5-8 places – $1,000 + 250 points
9-12 places – $400 + 125 points
13-16 places – $350 + 125 points
