Garnett suspended for head-butting Howard
Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett will sit out one game without pay after head-butting Houston Rockets centre Dwight Howard.
Garnett was also ejected from the game and Howard was fined $15,000 and issued a technical foul for pushing the Nets man.
The fight started with 7:53 left in the first quarter of Monday’s game. Howard hit Garnett in the chest after a dead ball, which led to Garnett then throwing the ball at Howard. He then head-butted him in the face. Howard took a swing at Garnett before both were separated by team-mates and officials.
The Rockets defeated the Nets 113-99.
Garnett will sit out Wednesday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
