Whilst no one could have predicted giant slaying on such a scale, there were some people who took a chance and put money on just such an outcome.

According to the Daily Mail, one lucky punter put £100 on Middlesbrough and Bradford to win…he pocketed £26k after Chelsea and City were knocked out.
Another put just £2 on a 5-fold accumulator, betting on Bradford, Boro, Leicester, Crystal Palace and Derby to win. He took home a tidy £24k.
The third big winner of the day was the genius who made another £2 bet on a 5-fold accumulator, but came out with £36k.
