Things are getting very tense between Real Madrid’s players and fans.
Having come this close to getting knocked out of the Champions League by Schalke last week, the fans are restless, and are taking out their ire on whoever they like, with no respect for status.
Club legend Iker Casillas has long been a target, while Gareth Bale has been at the forefront of the fans’ criticism since the turn of the year.
Cristiano Ronaldo, though, has generally escaped such publich shaming thanks to all the credit he has in the bank, i.e. scoring hundreds and hundreds of goals for the club in the past number of years.
But last night against Levante, the Bernabeu fans let their feelings be known to Ronaldo, whistling him for what they deemed to be a poor performance.
An incredulous Ronaldo turned and faced the fans in question, and in a fit o pique, uttered the Portuguese expression ‘Fodanse’, meaning ‘Go fuck yourself/selves’.
